Description
Malossi is one of the premier manufacturers of tuning parts for 2-stroke scooters and mopeds. In terms of quality and performance, Malossi is always ahead of the game.
The Malossi Exhaust RX Vespa GTS / GTS Super / GTV / GT 60 / GT / GT L 125-300cc can be used for injection and carburetted engines.
The RX is basically a redesigned and improved version of Malossi's "Wild Lion" racing exhaust. It is a real lightweight - only 3.5kg - which gives it distinct advantages over the majority of (heavier) maxi scooter exhausts.
Noise level remains in the legal range, attested to by E9 and E5 stamps. These stamps of approval become invalid when you remove the (in-built) DB-killer. After removal, the exhaust is no longer street-legal, that means off to the race track!
Vibrations are reduced via special rubber bushings; this way harmful vibrations are not transmitted to the manifold, the manifold does not split as easy and the entire system is more reliable and resistant.
In terms of look, this exhaust is a purebred racer - stainless steel, brushed finishing, carbon fibre end cap and, as a matter of course, the laser-engraved Malossi logo.

The exhaust has a major influence on the performance of scooters and mopeds. By replacing the original with a tuning exhaust, you can improve the gas flow and increase the engine power.

- The headpipe or header is the connection between cylinder and exhaust, and an exhaust gasket provides the necessary seal. In street-legal systems, the headpipe is equipped with a legally required restriction. Some people remove this restrictor to increase power.
- The actual exhaust body or expansion chamber is connected to the header pipe. In a classic 2-stroke expansion chamber type exhaust, gas pressure waves are used to improve engine performance.
- At the end there us the silencer or muffler that discharges the exhaust gases and, with the help of damping wool, also reduces the noise generated by the vehicle.
Replacing the exhaust
For 2-stroke engines, various settings and components usually need to be adjusted when the original exhaust is replaced with a tuning version. These changes include:
- Adjusting the carburetor by replacing the main jet.
- Upgrading the clutch or replacing the clutch springs.
- For scooters, it may be necessary to reduce the weight of the variator weights.
