Metrakit Piston Ring "Pro 50" Derbi Senda / Cagiva Mito. Spare piston ring for the 50cc tuning cylinder by Metrakit, renowned producer of racing and tuning parts and complete bikes for young riders. Piston rings are subject to wear, and worn out rings lead to poor performance. You can replace just the rings between these regular maintenance intervals.

Metrakit Pro Race
The Pro Race series from Metrakit consists of extremely powerful high-end parts for 50cc scooters and motorcycles, e.g. cylinders, crankshafts and exhaust systems.
The motto of this series is pretty straightforward: maximum performance. The Pro Race products offer very high maximum power with an emphasis on the upper RPM range, making them ideal for use on the race track.
To make full use of the power, we recommend using a carburetor with a large diameter, a large-volume intake system and a reinforced clutch.

Piston rings are sealing elements. They are inserted into the grooves of the piston to ensure sealing between the piston and the cylinder wall. Piston rings vary in size and shape and can be chrome-plated or cast iron, depending on the type of cylinder.
2-stroke piston Ring
The upper ring (often chrome-plated) is fireproof and seals the combustion chamber. The lower ring provides lubrication to the cylinder liner. 1-ring pistons perform both functions, but this results in a shorter service life.
4-stroke piston Rings
The upper ring also has the function of sealing the combustion chamber, while the middle ring collects excess oil and contributes to engine compression. The lower ring, known as the oil scraper ring, prevents engine oil from entering the combustion chamber.
