Description

Single set of Polini clutch springs.
Tuned engines usually reach their maximum power only higher up the rev range, the engine will suffer from a loss of power at low revs though, resulting in slower acceleration. Polini offers this set of clutch springs in different strengths for stock clutches to bridge the gap in the power band. Should be included in the order if you’re purchasing a sport exhaust!

Polini Speed Clutch

The Speed Clutch series from Polini covers the entire range of scooter clutches. Here you will find clutches for 50cc scooters and maxi scooters that not only improve clutch performance, but also the service life of the clutch compared to the original.

This series also includes several other variants, such as 2G, 3G, 3G Evolution and For Race. All clutches are reinforced to cope adequately with tuned engines.
As the name suggests, the For Race clutch is designed for the most powerful racing engines.

Clutch springs

No matter what kind of clutch is used on your bike (multi-plate wet clutch, centrifugal clutch ...), springs are always needed for clutch engagement. These springs do not all look the same, but they have more or less the same function, namely fot the clutch to engage / disengage.

In multi-plate clutches like those found in supermotos, motocross bikes, and motorcycles with manual transmission, the springs fatigue and shrink over time, and when they eventually become too small, the clutch will slip.
On motocross bikes, you also see diaphragm springs (KTM type) more and more often. In this case, the spring is a sort of large, domed disc. It needs to be replaced when it gets too flat, which also leads to clutch slippage.
There are also dry clutches (Ducati type) that are sometimes found on tuned 50cc bikes. The springs are similar to wet clutches.
On scooters with a centrifugal clutch, the springs will gradually lose tension, making clutch engagement increasingly spongy.
