Description
Replace the sprockets on your moped and add some customizing while you're at it: Front Sprocket 420 orange Minarelli AM6. The sprockets are painted with a very wear-resistant paint, they're fully functioning, top quality sprockets. Eye-catching replacement for original gear, or for changing the gear ratio of the transmission. Changing the gear ration of the transmission can have a powerful impact on acceleration and also on overall performance and top speed.
We recommend to replace the rear sprocket and chain since you're at it. Please clean and lubricate all gears and chain parts on a regular basis to avoid corrosion and premature wear.
FunCtion of front procket
The front sprocket of a motorcycle is an essential part of the chain drive. It is attached directly to the output of the gearbox and is connected to the rear sprocket via a chain.
How can I tell if the sprocket is worn?
A worn or damaged sprocket may show signs such as metallic rattling noises, worn teeth, a loose chain, or difficulty shifting gears.
smaller or larger front sprocket ?
- Smaller front sprocket → improved acceleration
- Larger front sprocket → higher top speed
You also have to consider the gear ratio between rear chainring and front sprocket. The calculation is: number of teeth of rear sprocket / number of teeth of front spocket. A low ratio increases speed, while a high ratio improves acceleration.
To ensure optimal life, it is important that you do not neglect chain care, we recommend a special chain brush.
