Description
A longer transmission, or higher gear ratio, means that top speed will be increased; at the same time, acceleration will suffer slightly. Likewise, the opposite is true for shorter gear ratio - less top speed, better acceleration.
We recommend to use this transmission with a performance cylinder with more power than the stock cylinder.
- type: secondary transmission
- gear ratio: 16/36
Scooter gearbox
The transmission of scooters and some mopeds is located in a case behind the clutch and torque driver and has the function of reducing rpm and ultimately driving the wheel axle.
The transmission of a scooter has a direct influence on top speed. If the engine develops enough power and torque at low rpm, you can choose a longer gear ratio to achieve a higher top speed without any noticeable loss in acceleration.
Please note: if you don't have a press, better choose pre-assembled gears!
