Throttle

The throttle controls the opening of the slide in the carburetor or the throttle valve on fuel-injected engines. This component must function properly: the throttle grip should rotate smoothly, without resistance or jerking. For this, the throttle cable must also be in good condition.

Twist Throttles for scooters and mopeds

OEM-quality throttles

On scooters, the original throttle is not designed for sporty use. However, it fits perfectly on the handlebar, integrates with the fairing, and often also serves as a mount for the switch assy. Throttles in OEM quality are available for common models such as Yamaha Aerox / Jog, Piaggio Zip / Typhoon, Peugeot Kisbee / Speedfight, as well as for less common vehicles.

Manufacturers such as Str8 or Motoforce provide suitable components.

For mopeds such as Piaggio Ciao, Peugeot 103 or MBK 51, sets including grips in a matching vintage style are also available.

Tuning throttles and quick-action throttles

For custom setups, a wide selection of anodized throttles in various colors is available.

Since the rotation angle on OEM twist throttles is often relatively long or not suited for carburetors with larger diameters, there are quick-action throttles from Stage6, MotoForce Racing or Domino.

These systems reduce the rotation needed to reach full throttle and make acceleration easier, as the carburetor slide opens faster. This can be particularly beneficial in racing use.

In many cases, a quick-twist throttle should be combined with a new throttle cable, as the original one does not always fit.

Throttle controls for 50cc geared Bikes and motocross

On 50cc motorcycles and motocross bikes, throttles are usually simpler in design and often already resemble a quick-twist system.

OEM-quality throttles

Again, parts in OE quality are available for common models such as Beta RR, Rieju MRT, Derbi Senda, as well as for motocross bikes like Yamaha YZ, Honda CR, Kawasaki KX or KTM EXC.

If you don't want to replace the complete throttle, go for individual throttle tubes made of plastic or reinforced aluminum with bearings.

When using a universal throttle, the throttle cable should also be replaced.

Tuning throttles and specific quick-action throttles

We carry models from brands such as Voca Racing, Motoforce Racing and Domino, with different angles, more or less compact housings, and adjustable cams to adapt rotation and opening angle. Suitable for 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines (with pull and return cable).

Available in many color variants, with or without grips.
