Defective Scooetr alternator Or upgrade your ignition?

The alternator, which is the central part of a scooter ignition, is usually composed of a stator with coils and a rotor / flywheel with a magnet. The rotor rotates, and due to the principle of electromagnetism, an alternating voltage is generated. A rectifier or voltage regulator converts this alternating voltage into direct voltage, i.e. your on-board voltage.

Alternators differ depending on engine type, year of manufacture and model. We carry a huge selection of original alternators for:

We also offer you OEM quality replacement alternators for your scooter that are in no way inferior to the original parts. We recommend Motoforce ignitions that are sold at very fair prices.

To remove the alternator, you need a flywheel puller, please remember to order this tool if you do not already have one.

Faulty alternator - what are the symptoms?

The diagnosis is usually pretty difficult, because the symptoms may vary depending on the scooter model.

  1. Your scooter does not start?
  2. The electrical system has no voltage?
  3. Lamps burn out?
  4. Etc. etc.

some parts that may be responsible for Malfunctions:

  1. Check spark plug, ignition cable, spark plug connector. Everything's ok? Check and / or replace the alternator and CDI.
  2. Alternator or rectifier are defective.
  3. Check regulator rectifier and replace if necessary.

These are only some of the components that may be faulty. Sometimes the failure is caused by small things, like loosened cables, defective fuses etc..
