Master Links
Chains are either pre-pressed or locked with a chain master link. Rivet master links are very popular, because they offer a very high protection against accidental opening of the chain by e.g. stone chipping compared to clip locks.
The disadvantage of rivet links is that you can't remove the chain without having to replace the master link. In addition, you need the appropriate chain riveting tool.
Clip master links, on the other hand, can be removed and reinstalled several times.
For some chains, the clip is not included, you need to order it separately.
Tip: it is always better to replace the complete chain set (front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain) at once to achieve maximum service life.
