The gearbox of an automatic engine consists of primary, intermediate and wheel shaft and has the task of reducing the speed of the rear pulley to the rear wheel. For tuned engines, you should consider a transmission with a modified gear ratio.
Scooter gearbox
The transmission of scooters and some mopeds is located in a case behind the clutch and torque driver and has the function of reducing rpm and ultimately driving the wheel axle.
The transmission of a scooter has a direct influence on top speed. If the engine develops enough power and torque at low rpm, you can choose a longer gear ratio to achieve a higher top speed without any noticeable loss in acceleration.
Please note: if you don't have a press, better choose pre-assembled gears!
