Cylinder kit schmitt 38mm 25 km/h moped version (Sachs 504 / 505 engine)
The Schmitt 38mm cylinder kit was specially developed for mopeds with Sachs 504 and 505 engines, such as Hercules Prima, KTM Pony and Hobby. With a stroke of 42mm, it achieves a real displacement of 50cc and is designed for small mopeds with a Sachs engine.

This cylinder kit is a completely new development with a true-to-original look and a straight connection to the intake manifold. Unlike many replica cylinders, Schmitt has focused on delivering top-quality, modern manufacturing while preserving the classic look.

High-performance piston
The piston included in the kit is made of a durable aluminum alloy with 18% silicon content and has the original profile. This provides maximum durability, exceptional emergency running properties, and optimal performance during the break-in phase. The piston is enhanced with two rings of different thicknesses for smooth operation, as found in original parts. A molybdenum disulfide coating further supports the piston’s glide properties during the initial break-in period.

How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped
The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.
The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.
Tuning Level: Original

Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
