Handguards
Hand protectors are a must-have for all motorsport pilots and anyone who wants to use their two-wheeler even in low temperatures.
In motocross, a stone chip can quickly mean the end of a round, and in enduro competitions, branches can injure your fingers. In normal road use, handguards offer excellent protection against cold wind and rain.
Which handguards are suitable for which discipline?
There are different types of handguards.
Some hand protectors attach to the levers and are mainly used in motocross because they are lightweight and take up little space on the handlebars, leaving plenty of room for the many controls that are available these days. These handguards are specifically designed for a specific model.
Other hand protectors are universal and are attached to the handlebar (usually between the grip and lever). They can be used for motocross and enduro machines as well as for 50cc manual mopeds or scooters.
There are also hand protectors that attach to the end of the handlebar and to the inside of the handlebar near the handlebar clamps. They are especially common in enduro sports, but are also used on supermotos , where they are reinforced with an aluminum bar.
