The Alpinestars SM8 cross helmet is the brand's mid-range model. The Italian manufacturer, which was initially known primarily for its high-quality motocross boots, now also offers helmets.
The SM8 adopts almost all the features of the top-of-the-range SM10 model, which is perfectly designed for the extreme conditions and risks of motocross.
The difference is in the materials used for the helmet shell. The helmet still exceeds the requirements of the new ECE22.06 standard.

Motocross helmet

Off-roading requires special equipment, and that includes a special MX helmet. Cross helmets usually have numerous vents to keep the rider as ventilated as possible, even in extreme conditions. Instead of a visor, most cross helmets have a long, adjustable peak that serves as sun protection in constantly changing light conditions and also as a splash guard. Motocross helmets are much lighter than full-face or flip-up helmets, but lack a bit in terms of noise insulation.

Cross helmets must be worn with motocross goggles.
