Description

Premium quality performance parts made in Italy - Parmakit Cylinder SP 09- R 130cc with 57mm bore, 51mm stroke for 97mm connecting rod, for Vespa Smallframe models (Vespa Special / ET3 / PK / Primavera). The "SP 09-R" is a tuning cylinder with crank-controlled intake (disc valve). This kit was built for sporty road use but is, in combination with the matching set-up and a little porting, perfectly fit for race use as well, so basically a great option for everyone looking for outstanding power output.

The cylinder shines on all fronts: lots of power and fantastic torque are combined with very high reliability - this top quality tuning kit will get get your Smallframe Vespa an impressive boost and will last you a long time. High-precision workmanship, ingenious layout and top quality materials are all bound to raise your Vespa's performance to the next level.

The aluminium cylinder with Nikasil-coated bore is very robust, reliable and low-maintenance. It has 5 transfer ports and a bridged exhaust; the bridged vs. classic oval port is what sets the SP09-R apart from the other SP09 cylinders. The forged piston (Vertex) is graphite-coated and comes with 15mm pin as well as circlips and ring. The cylinder comes with a modular cylinder head (two-piece, with separate combustion chamber) for more efficient cooling; the spark plug is central. Also included is a matching gasket kit.

The cylinder fits all Smallframe Vespas provided that you use a matching crankshaft with 97mm connecting rod (e.g. PM57052.14). Please check if your crankshaft and especially the bearings are in good condition before mounting the cylinder kit. Reed valve intake kits with different connection diameters (19, 25, 30, 36) for direct intake can be purchased separately.

For optimum performance we recommend using a larger carburetor (28mm or even more). Also recommended: a matching tuning exhaust (e. g. PM57090.08) to unlock the full potential of this kit. And if you want to go all out, we recommend complementing your new cylinder with a race ignition (PM57008.22).

The "SP 09-R" cylinder kit includes:

  • Nikasil-plated aluminium cylinder 130cc, 57mm bore (51mm stroke / 97mm conrod)
  • CNC-machined modular cylinder head, anodized
  • gaskets and small parts

Notes and Safety

How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped

The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.

Tuning Level: Racing

We categorize our products into different performance levels  Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.

Racing products are designed for a more extreme uses and are developed primarily for racing. Whether you stay at 50cc or increase the displacement, the corresponding Racing parts produce much higher performance than the original parts in order to achieve maximum power.

Aluminium cylinders

Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.

How to run in an aluminium cylinder?

Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.

Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
