Description
Pulley / Clutch Kit Doppler ER86 Peugeot 103 SPX / RCX, high-performance pulley + clutch for tuned mopeds.
Including:
• 1x aluminium pulley ER2 / ER86
• 1x pulley axle ER2 / ER86
• 1x SX86 clutch with 3 adjustable shoes
• 1x clutch bell SX86
Often, depending on the type of engine, when upgrading to a more powerful racing engine, the clutch function is omitted. With this special pulley from Doppler you can reinstate the clutch again. Clutch and pulley form one unit, the clutch is not connected to the variator as usual (as for example on the Peugeot 103 SPX / RCX).
As a little extra you can adjust the clutch with the 3 set screws to change the hardness of the springs. Practical: the clutch bell does not have to be removed to make these adjustments.
The ER86 clutch disc with clutch is recommended for Peugeot 103 SPX / RCX mopeds with high-end engines.
CVT Pulleys
Pulleys are an integral part of the CVT system on scooters and mopeds with automatic CVT transmission.
The continuously variable transmission consists of fixed and moving pulleys, the V-belt rises and falls between them depending on the engine speed, changing the speed of the vehicle.
When should you change a pulley?
There are two reasons for replacing pulleys:
- Wear and tear. Although pulleys are relatively durable, the constant sliding of the V-belt can deform the surface.
- Tuning. Different pulley angles and diameters can improve the handling of scooters or mopeds.
Note: A CVT variator can only do a good job when CVT pulleys as well as torque drive pulleys are compatible with each other. Pitches and diameters of the individual elements must be matched so that the V-belt can glide evenly.
