Description
By foam filter specialist UNI (USA): UNI Air Filter clamp-on 57.2mm x 102mm, also called "sock" filter since you can basically slip them on like socks. The clamp-on foam filters don't have a proper flange but are clamped on; a spring-like interior framework renders the filter flexible and squeezable so it can be used for many different kinds of vehicles. Very good alternative to more common air filters especially if there's not a whole lot of room to mount a "normal" filter, for example after upgrading your two-wheeler with a bigger carburetor (PWK).

what are the benefits of open air filters?
Pod air filters are installed in place of the original air filter box of scooters, motorcycles or even mopeds to increase the air flow and thus improve performance and cooling of the engine.
However, using an open pod filter can make the vehicle louder, leads to slightly worse fuel economy, and it is possible that water gets into the engine during heavy rain. But what the heck - open air filters just sound great!
Just as with original air filter inserts, it is important to clean the air filter regularly with air filter cleaner.
Note: When installing an open sport air filter, the carburetor must be readjusted, i.e. in most cases the jet has to be changed.
