The CVT is an extremely important part of the drivetrain, as it ensures that the engine’s power is transferred smoothly and reliably to the rear wheel. Even the most powerful cylinder is useless without a good variator! That’s why a Malossi variator is the best solution for optimal power delivery.
There are many Malossi variators available, such as the Multivar 2000 or the MHR GP for a wide RPM range, ideal for higher-performance engines.

The CVT brings the power to the wheel
A poorly adjusted variator is often the reason for what riders describe as a "hole" when accelerating, i.e. when revving the engine. Changing to a Malossi variator has many advantages over the standard model. The pitch of the Malossi CVT has been revised to facilitate revving, the materials used are of a higher quality and the coating allows intensive use.
There are various Malossi CVT models, for example the Multivar 2000, which is suitable for scooters with standard cylinders or 50cc sports engines. The Malossi Overrange GP is larger and is used for more powerful engines from 70cc upwards.
Malossi has developed the Overrange kits for these very powerful engines. It consists of a Malossi MHR variator / front pulley (also available separately), an aramid-reinforced V-belt and a Malossi Overrange rear pulley. The pulleys are wider and the speed range is wider, which ensures linear power delivery when the Malossi variator is correctly adjusted.
Malossi variators are available for almost all scooters and mopeds, e.g. Yamaha Aerox, Piaggio, Gilera or MBK. CVT weights for the Malossi CVTs are also available in our online store in the CVT category.
