Engine and Chassis Parts for Peugeot Citystar 50cc
The Peugeot Citystar AC has an air-cooled Peugeot engine with a horizontal cylinder. From 2004 onward, this engine was used exclusively in Peugeot scooters and powered all Peugeot models before four-stroke engines replaced it.
Although the Citystar has considerably larger bodywork than other scooters from the brand, it shares many chassis parts with the more common Ludix and Kisbee models.
This allows us to offer a wide selection of parts:
- Genuine spare parts: Peugeot OEM parts listed in the exploded diagrams
- OEM-quality engine parts: affordable aftermarket parts such as pistons, gasket sets, spark plugs, drive belts and various bearings
- Sport and racing engine parts: cylinder kits (50cc, 70cc, etc.), reinforced crankshafts and clutches, variators, inner rotor ignitions, racing exhausts, etc.
- Chassis parts: brake pads and discs, levers, steering head bearings, etc.
Well-known brands such as Motoforce, Stage6, Malossi, Polini, Airsal, Top Performances and many others supply us with very high-quality spare parts.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I carry out regular maintenance myself?
Maintaining a two-stroke engine is relatively simple. Replacing the variator rollers and drive belt and changing the gear oil only requires a few tools. Suitable parts and tools are available in our shop.
Which two-stroke oil is suitable?
This depends on the engine: a stock engine only needs semi-synthetic two-stroke oil. A tuned engine requires fully synthetic oil. A racing engine needs high-quality racing oil.
What is the top speed of the Citystar 50?
In completely stock form, the 50cc Citystar reaches a maximum of 45 km/h, even though it looks like a maxi-scooter. However, derestriction or tuning parts such as an exhaust, cylinder kit or sport variator can easily increase its speed.
How does derestriction affect performance?
After derestriction, the Citystar runs slightly faster because the variator can open fully and the CDI no longer limits the maximum engine speed. However, derestriction invalidates the vehicle's approval for road use. The insurer may also refuse coverage in the event of an accident.
Is the weight a problem for a 50cc scooter?
If the 50cc engine feels a little underpowered, we have a solution. However, this also invalidates the vehicle's approval for road use. For more power while keeping the scooter discreet, we recommend a 70cc cast iron cylinder, a sport exhaust such as the LeoVince GP Evo and a carburetor with a diameter of 17.5 or 19 mm.
