The Elystar AC has an air-cooled Peugeot engine with a vertical cylinder. This engine also powers many other scooters from the brand, including the popular Speedfight 1 and 2 and the Trekker / TKR.

Although the bodywork is considerably larger than on other scooters from the brand, many chassis parts are similar.

Which variator rollers fit, and what is the correct weight?

As on other scooters with this engine, the variator rollers measure 16 x 13 mm. The roller weight for the stock engine is between 8 and 9 g.

Which drive belt and variator fit the Elystar 50?

The same variators and drive belts as those for the Peugeot Speedfight 1 and 2 can be used.

Which exhaust fits?

All exhausts for common Peugeot models with a vertical engine also fit the Elystar.

Can a larger carburetor be fitted without replacing other parts?

An intake manifold with a flexible rubber sleeve is recommended for a larger carburetor.

Which clutch springs and contra spring are suitable?

No changes are needed with a stock-style exhaust. A sport exhaust calls for stiffer clutch springs so that the clutch engages at higher rpm. The contra spring should only be replaced with a stiffer one if a significantly more powerful cylinder is fitted.

Is a cylinder kit 50cc or more suitable for everyday use?

A sport cylinder kit is suitable for everyday use without any problems when paired with a properly tuned carburetor.
