Piaggio Fly 125 - General information

The Piaggio Fly 125 is the somewhat lower-priced successor to previous Vespa models, which were still built with sheet metal fairing panels and steel frames. Thanks to low-cost production at Zhongshen in China, the price of the Vespa LX 125 could be reduced by almost half. The Piaggio Fly 125 came onto the market in 2005 and was also offered as the Derbi Boulevard 125 by the Spanish subsidiary Derbi. As the price could be kept much lower thanks to the plastic fairing, Piaggio were able to keep the high-quality Leader engine. The engine is from the second generation of 125 cc four-stroke engines and was designed for power and torque. Thanks to the secondary air system and the catalytic converter, the engine complies with the Euro 2 standard.
