Peugeot Ludix 2 One 50cc AC - technical data
The Peugeot Ludix was launched in 2004 with a clear objective: to offer an affordable, lightweight and fuel-efficient urban scooter for under €1,000. The French manufacturer hit the mark and for more than a decade (until production ended in 2017 due to Euro 4 regulations), the Ludix became a true bestseller with over 230,000 units sold across Europe, especially in France, Spain and Italy.
In 2007, Peugeot introduced the second generation: the Ludix 2. The Ludix 2 One is the optimized entry-level version, designed for intensive urban use. The scooter stands out for its simple mechanics, low maintenance costs, and excellent spare part availability, making it the ideal choice for a reliable city scooter.
The Ludix 2 introduced several key upgrades over the previous model: electric starter as standard, complete electrical system with 12V battery (instead of the generator of the previous model), indicators with transparent lenses, a small dome on the handlebar fairing and painted plastic bodywork.
Peugeot also expanded the Ludix family with sportier versions such as the Ludix Snake (off-road look with knobby tires) and the Ludix Blaster (sporty version with up to 5 hp, liquid cooling on some versions and larger wheels). In 2019, Peugeot revived the concept with the e-Ludix, a fully electric version manufactured in India that pays tribute to the iconic design of the original model.
Engine - Peugeot Ludix 2 One 50 AC
The Ludix 2 One 50 AC scooter is powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 49.9 cc. One of the most important improvements of this second generation is the 12V on-board electrical system, allowing for an electric starter in addition in addition to the traditional kickstarter, providing a major boost in daily convenience. This upgraded electrical system also fixes the weaknesses of the previous model with generator and offers brighter indicators, a more powerful horn and generally more reliable electrics.
The engine reaches a top speed of 45 km/h to comply with Euro 2 homologation requirements for mopeds. It offers an average fuel consumption of approximately 3.4 L per 100 km, resulting in an estimated riding range of 170 km depending on conditions.
