Peugeot Ludix One 50cc AC - technical overview
The Peugeot Ludix was launched on the market in 2004 with a clear objective: to offer an affordable, lightweight and fuel-efficient urban scooter for under €1,000. The French manufacturer hit the mark and for more than a decade (until production ended in 2017 due to Euro 4 regulations), the Ludix became a true bestseller with over 230,000 units sold across Europe, especially in France, Spain and Italy.
Within the series, the Ludix One 50 is the most basic version: an air-cooled 2-stroke engine, kickstarter, 10-inch wheels and drum brakes on both wheels. It was precisely this minimalist technology that made it the ideal everyday scooter for the city and for commercial use such as delivery services - low-maintenance, inexpensive to maintain and excellent spare parts availability.
Over the years, Peugeot introduced several Ludix variants, including a two-seater and more modern versions with advanced upgrades: the Ludix 2 (2007) came with an electric starter and improved equipment; later versions featured 12 and 14-inch wheels, front disc brakes and sportier designs such as Ludix Blaster, Ludix Trend, Ludix Elegance or Ludix Snake. There were also single-seater cargo versions with a luggage rack for professional transportation. In 2019, Peugeot revived the concept with the e-Ludix, a fully electric version manufactured in India that pays tribute to the iconic design of the original model.
Ludix One 50 AC - Engine
The Ludix 50 AC uses an air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 49.9 cc. A key feature of this entry-level version is the absence of a traditional 12V battery. Instead, the electrical system relies on a generator, reducing both weight and maintenance costs.
Power is transmitted through a fully automatic CVT system with centrifugal clutch and belt drive, typical for 50cc scooters and ideal for easy city riding. Maximum output is approximately 2.9 kW (around 4 hp) at 7,100 rpm, enough to comfortably reach the legal moped limit of 45 km/h. As with all 2-stroke engines, lubrication is handled by an automatic oil injection pump with a separate 2-stroke oil tank.

Ludix one ac - Tuning, maintenance and spare parts
One of the biggest advantages of the Ludix One is its excellent spare parts availability. Thanks to the large production numbers, components are affordable, easy to source and quick to replace. Ideal for both OEM restoration and performance upgrades.
OEM spare parts are available for reliable standard maintenance, including Motoforce 50cc cylinders, crankshafts, homologated exhausts, drum brakes and electrical components to restore the scooter to its original condition.
For riders looking for more performance, there are plenty of racing parts: 70cc cylinders from Airsal or Malossi MHR, reinforced crankshafts and Stage6 performance exhausts which, together with carburetors with a higher flow rate and optimized CVTs, can radically increase the power of the 2-stroke engine. In addition, there are optical tuning accessories such as LED lighting, handlebars, grips and shock riser kits for custom projects of all kinds.
Note: The Ludix range includes multiple versions with different wheel sizes (10", 12", 14") and braking systems. Always confirm that your model is the Ludix One 50 2T AC before ordering parts.
