Gilera Runner FXR 180 - General Information
The Gilera Runner FXR 180 is the highest-displacement version of the first-generation Gilera Runner, known for its 2-stroke engine and power delivery, which made it one of the benchmarks in the maxi-scooter segment in its day. Its tubular steel frame with sheet metal reinforcements and its overall design remained the model’s hallmark. With the implementation of Euro emissions standards, Piaggio/Gilera replaced this 2-stroke engine with a 4-stroke engine, giving rise to the later Gilera Runner VXR 180.
The model was also offered in a 125cc version, sharing many of its chassis, brake, suspension, and electrical components with the 180cc model.
