Piaggio SKR 125cc - General information
The Piaggio SKR 125cc (later known as Piaggio Skipper 125) is a zippy city scooter by Italian brand Piaggio. The name may be unassuming, but riding this 125cc scooter is a lot of fun if you have a motorcycle license: Hop on, start the engine, give it some gas - that`s it. It was in production from 1993 - 2000 and was renamed Piaggio Skipper in 1997. Thanks to its low weight of only 105 kilograms and the relatively small wheels, the SKR is immensely agile. With a tank volume of 9.4 liters and fuel efficiency averaging at 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers, it's well-suited for longer rides as well.
Piaggio SKR 125 - ENGINE
The Piaggio SKR 125 features both electric and kick starter options for ignition. The Piaggio SKR 125 is equipped with an air-cooled two-stroke single-cylinder engine that offers good performance and good fuel economy. Depending on the specific model, the power output of the SKR 125cc may vary slightly, typically falling within the range of 9 to 11 horsepower. It utilizes a carburetor for intake and is fitted with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with a V-belt.
SKR 125 - Chassis
Up front, the Piaggio SKR 125 is equipped with a telescopic fork that takes care of front wheel suspension. The rear suspension can differ by model and generation, but is usually a simple swingarm design. The front disc brake has a diameter of 220 mm, while the rear brake has a brake drum with a diameter of 140 mm. Tire size is 100/80 x 10 at the front and 110/80 x 10 at the rear, and seat height is 790 mm.
