Peugeot Speedfight 4 50 4T

The Peugeot Speedfight saga is one of the historical references among 50 cc sport scooters in Europe. Since its appearance in 1997, the Speedfight has been characterized by a very marked aesthetics, a well cared cycle part and an agile behavior in the city. Throughout its different generations -Speedfight 1, 2, 3 and 4 - the model has been incorporating technical and equipment improvements while maintaining that sporty approach oriented to daily urban use.

The Speedfight 1 (1997-2000) inaugurated the concept with a 50 cc 2-stroke vertical cylinder engine, available in air-cooled or liquid-cooled versions. Its aggressive design and agile handling quickly made it a benchmark among European sport mopeds. In 2000 came the Speedfight 2, which kept the mechanical base of the upright 2-stroke engine but deeply updated the design of the front, rear and optical groups, consolidating the sporty image of the model and improving key components such as the front suspension with anti-dive system.

The Speedfight 3 (2009-2019) was a more radical change. Peugeot completely redesigned the bodywork with more angular and modern lines, and introduced a new 2-stroke horizontal cylinder engine with Dell'Orto electronic oil pump, improving reliability and performance over previous generations. More importantly, this generation saw the appearance of the first 50 cc 4-stroke versions, derived from the GY6 / SYM block, designed to meet stricter anti-pollution regulations and offer lower fuel consumption. The Speedfight 3 was marketed in multiple finishes and special editions (Darkside, Ice Blade, Le Mans, etc.), in both 2-stroke and 4-stroke versions, with air or liquid cooling.

The Speedfight 4 (since 2015) continues this evolution with mainly aesthetic and equipment changes. The front and rear were redesigned again, with sharper fairings and modernized optics. It maintains the 50 cc 2T (horizontal cylinder) and 50 cc 4T engine architecture inherited from the Speedfight 3, but adapted to Euro 4 (2014-2020) and Euro 5 (2021-present) regulations. In the European market, the range has been progressively consolidating towards the 4T air engine, especially in Spain, where the 50 4T version is the most marketed at present.

In this context, the Peugeot Speedfight 4 50 4T is positioned as the four-stroke version designed for those who prioritize low consumption, compliance with the latest anti-pollution regulations (Euro 5) and easy maintenance, without sacrificing the aggressive aesthetics and dynamic behavior typical of the Speedfight family.
