Aprilia SR 50 LC (Piaggio Engine) – General Information
Aprilia launched the SR 50 in 1992, and the scooter immediately became a success and one of the brand’s signature models. The modern design inspired by sport bikes, combined with the 50 cc 2-stroke engine, was a key factor in its long-term success. After several engine configurations, the introduction of Piaggio engines from 2003 onward represented a real technical upgrade for riders. This generation looks fresher and more aggressive, while also bringing important technical improvements.

Engine
From 2003, this model is equipped with a liquid-cooled Piaggio 2-stroke single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 49 cc. The engine is fitted with a carburetor and produces around 3.3 kW (4.5 hp) at 6,500 rpm. Liquid cooling provides optimal heat dissipation, even on tuned engines. Intake is via a reed valve directly into the crankcase, which allows better cylinder filling, while the CVT variator and belt drive ensure very comfortable riding in city traffic.

Chassis
The chassis of the Aprilia SR 50 is designed for stability and riding comfort. The suspension is tuned to effectively absorb road imperfections, with the engine block integrated as a structural element at the rear. The braking system provides balanced stopping power, while the wheel diameter supports precise and secure handling in urban traffic.
