Aprilia SR 50 Sport LC (Piaggio engine) – General information
Since its market launch in 1992, the Aprilia SR 50 has been one of the most popular sport scooters. Its design was clearly inspired by Grand Prix motorcycles, giving it a distinctly sporty character from the very beginning.
The Sport version, produced between 2003 and 2005, featured a more distinctive look and was technically closely related to the Racing model. However, it already used the Piaggio Euro 2 engine, known for its high durability and taller gearing – a combination that makes it an ideal base for performance-oriented setups. In addition, it featured an optimized ignition curve and a finely tuned 17.5 mm Dell’Orto carburetor for improved acceleration, setting new standards in reliability and performance within the sport scooter segment.

Engine
This model is equipped with the liquid-cooled Piaggio single-cylinder 2-stroke engine with 49 cc displacement. The liquid cooling system ensures optimal heat dissipation and allows the engine to maintain reliable performance even under demanding conditions or in tuned configurations.

Chassis
The chassis of the Sport version remains true to the technical quality of the series and includes, among other features, a dual disc brake system. The suspension is designed to absorb road irregularities precisely, while the engine block is integrated as part of the rear assembly. The 13-inch wheels support precise handling, and the 190 mm brake discs front and rear provide balanced braking performance.
