Piaggio TPH 125 - General information

The first Piaggio TPH 125 (TPH for Typhoon) was introduced in 1993. It was originally a 50cc 2-stroke scooter, which was then also offered as a 125cc 2-stroke. It was later equipped with a Hi-per 2 (4-stroke) engine (2010 to 2017).

The TPH 125 is a medium-sized scooter with a relatively low weight for its class. It shares its base with the Aprilia Typhoon, which has been in production for a little longer.

The scooter is equipped with an air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, two-valve engine with a displacement of 124cc. Air cooling ensures optimum heat dissipation. The intake is via a carburetor and it has an automatic transmission / CVT with a V-belt. It can be started both electrically and by kickstarter.

Piaggio Typhoon 125 - Chassis

The TPH 125 is a compact, lightweight scooter that is easy to move around town. There is a telescopic fork at the front, while the engine acts as a swing arm at the rear and has an adjustable shock absorber. This combination effectively compensates for bumps in the road. A disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear ensure a powerful braking effect and bring the machine to an efficient stop. The generously dimensioned tires provide an excellent compromise between grip and comfort.

Piaggio TPH 125 Tuning - Features

A digital-analog cockpit and a USB charging port were added to the facelift from the 2018 model year, as well as an updated version of the Hi-Per 2 engine block to comply with the EURO 4 emissions standard. The fairings are identical to the TPH 50, opening up the field for custom projects and optical tuning.
