Yamaha YZ 80 1990-1992
Yamaha launched their first 80cc motocross motorbike back in 1974. The YZ80 was inspired by its big sisters with 125 and 250 cc and was upgraded several times in the course of its history before it became an 85 cc machine in 2002. From twin shock absorbers to cantilever to monoshock absorbers on linkage, from air to liquid cooling, from drum to disc brakes - year after year, the YZ80 adopted the improvements of the entire MX model range. These developments led to an extremely mature machine as early as 1993, the basis of which (engine and main frame) was retained on the 85 cc models until 2018 due to their continued success.
The Yamaha YZ 80 is a motocross motorcycle for young riders between 1.30 m and 1.65 m tall. The Yamaha YZ 80 is a motorcycle designed for off-road use. It is not street legal and is intended exclusively for use on closed off-road race tracks.
With its slim, agile and relatively powerful engine, the Yamaha YZ 80 is also suitable for motocross beginners, even if it was developed more for experienced riders.
