intake manifold - restricted or open?

The intake manifold forms the connection between the carburetor and the engine or cylinder. The fresh air-fuel mixture that is prepared in the carburetor enters the cylinder via the intake manifold and the reed valve.

On modern scooters, the intake manifold is usually made of aluminium, which is complemented by a rubber adapter to make a flexible, tight connection.
