Description
Crankshaft Schmitt Dampfhammer for Simson
Extra reinforced "Super Performance" racing crankshaft from Schmitt Dampfhammer crankshaft with 44mm stroke / 85mm connecting rod for Simson S51, S70, S83 with M500, M700 crankcases for big bore engines with 80cc - 110cc displacement.
Features of the Dampfhammer crankshaft
The made in Germany crankshaft has a 44mm stroke, an 85mm connecting rod and is fitted with tungsten balancing cores to ensure perfect balancing. The CNC-machined forged connecting rod has two additional lubrication holes and is guided by silver thrust washers. It comes with a high-quality, enlarged silver small end bearing (17 mm).
And another treat for tuners: on the clutch side, the crankshaft stub has been enlarged to allow for the installation of an optional 3rd crankshaft bearing.
Every component of the Dampfhamer crankshaft is designed for maximum performance. The materials are very high quality, the manufacturing precise. All critical areas have been adequately reinforced to ensure smooth running and optimum rigidity even at high rpms. Runout and bearing seat fit meet the latest measurement and manufacturing standards. Pre-compression is optimized to provide a wide power band.
The Dampfhammer crankshaft from Schmitt is suitable for powerful big bore engines with 80cc - 110cc displacement and is resistant up to 15,000 rpm.

How to change a crankshaft?
The crankshaft is one of the main components of the engine and is responsible for the smooth operation of motorcycle, scooter and moped, whether with two-stroke or four-stroke engine. The longevity of the engine depends not only on the proper condition of the crankshaft, but also on the fact that it is properly mounted.
For a correct installation of the crankshaft, we recommend our tutorial: Crankshaft disassembly and assembly.
How can I tell if my crankshaft is Damaged?
A broken crankshaft causes metallic noises, unusual vibrations, leaking oil seals and drastically reduces the performance of the two-wheeler. In any case, the vehicle must be stopped immediately to prevent the damage from getting worse.
Please note that whenever the crankshaft is changed and serviced, you'll have to install new crankshaft bearings.
Tuning Level: Racing
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
Racing products are designed for a more extreme uses and are developed primarily for racing. Whether you stay at 50cc or increase the displacement, the corresponding Racing parts produce much higher performance than the original parts in order to achieve maximum power.
