Crankshaft bearings

Crankshaft bearings are generally classic ball bearings. They sit next to the crank webs on the crankshaft and in the crankcase.

This is a wear part that, despite generally high durability, needs to be replaced from time to time.

Replacing crankshaft bearings

Maintenance and repair

It is recommended to always replace the bearings together with the crankshaft seals. We carry complete kits with bearings and seals, but all parts can also be ordered individually.

Worn bearings are usually loud and cause strong vibrations. This is an indication that they should be replaced. If you want to replace them preemptively, use the owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s specifications as a reference.

We carry replacement bearings from well-known brands such as MotoForce, ProX, Athena, HotRod, or SKF.

Engine tuning

On tuned engines, it may be necessary to install reinforced bearings. This mainly affects 50cc scooters and geared bikes, where there are very powerful cylinders that reach significantly higher rpm than the stock versions.

In our shop, we have crankshaft bearings and seals from well-known tuning brands such as Stage6 R/T, Polini, Malossi, or Bidalot, and others are available.

WARNING! To replace the bearings, the engine has to be completely opened. It is important to remember to order gear oil or engine oil for 4-stroke engines, as well as a complete gasket set. In addition, a tool is needed to pull the flywheel.
