Crankshaft Simson Sportfreund

The crankshaft is equipped with a reinforced connecting rod and silver-plated small end bearing. The connecting rod is guided by the big end bearing with silver plated thrust washers.
The pressure between the crank pin and the stroke disc has been significantly strengthened, which makes this crankshaft much more rigid and stable at higher rpms. Special attention was paid to the accuracy of fit of the ignition cone in the original ratio of 1:5. (original ratio 1:5), so that inaccuracies are avoided when mounting modern flywheels. Concentricity deviation and bearing seat fit also meet the highest precision and manufacturing standards and are not comparable with cheap crankshafts of Asian manufacture.
The perfectly balanced & precisely manufactured Sportfreund tuning crankshaft can be used with original to sport setups.

How to change a crankshaft?
The crankshaft is one of the main components of the engine and is responsible for the smooth operation of motorcycle, scooter and moped, whether with two-stroke or four-stroke engine. The longevity of the engine depends not only on the proper condition of the crankshaft, but also on the fact that it is properly mounted.
For a correct installation of the crankshaft, we recommend our tutorial: Crankshaft disassembly and assembly.
How can I tell if my crankshaft is Damaged?
A broken crankshaft causes metallic noises, unusual vibrations, leaking oil seals and drastically reduces the performance of the two-wheeler. In any case, the vehicle must be stopped immediately to prevent the damage from getting worse.
Please note that whenever the crankshaft is changed and serviced, you'll have to install new crankshaft bearings.
Tuning Level: Sport
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
The products listed under Sport yield better performance than Original parts. They may have technical differences, such as the use of higher quality materials, a larger displacement or a performance-enhancing design. They are suitable for everyday use and have a long service life.
