Description
A higher gear ratio will increase top speed, a lower gear ratio will improve acceleration. Only recommended for tuning / racing cylinders. OEM cylinders usually don't have enough power to pull this kind of transmission.
15/38 teeth - 17mm diameter - intermediate (idler) gear (Piaggio after 1998).
Scooter gearbox
The transmission of scooters and some mopeds is located in a case behind the clutch and torque driver and has the function of reducing rpm and ultimately driving the wheel axle.
The transmission of a scooter has a direct influence on top speed. If the engine develops enough power and torque at low rpm, you can choose a longer gear ratio to achieve a higher top speed without any noticeable loss in acceleration.
Please note: if you don't have a press, better choose pre-assembled gears!
