Description
Stage6 Torque Control MK2 CPI / Keeway
Stage6 RACING Torque Control MK2 112mm Clutch China 2-Stroke (CPI/Keeway/Generic) - high-performance scooter clutch with a reinforced back plate, enlarged linings, and slightly heavier clutch shoes.
Adjusting Stage6 Torque Control Clutch
The advantage of this clutch is that the springs can be adjusted and replaced without having to disassemble the entire unit.
The springs are held in place by screws, which can easily be tightened or loosened through the preformed holes in the Stage6 R/T clutch bell. If the clutch is fitted with a different clutch bell, the bell must be removed, but the clutch itself does not need to be removed from the torque driver / rear pulley. The scale on the adjustment screws allows each spring preload to be set precisely and continuously.
Additional Weights Stage6 Torque Control Clutch
The Stage6 Torque Control MK2 clutch allows weights to be added to influence not only the engagement rpm but also the aggressiveness of the engagement process. Racing scooters generally require smooth clutch engagement for optimal acceleration while leaning, while fun scooters require aggressive clutch engagement to enable wheelies. The Torque Control makes both possible. The heavier the weights and the farther outward they are positioned, the more aggressively the clutch engages.
Clutch Springs Stage6 Torque Control
The suitable clutch springs depend on the cylinder and setup. We recommend the white springs for sport cylinders, the orange springs for racing cylinders, and the optionally available red springs for high-end racing cylinders.

Scooter clutch
The clutch is essential for the smooth operation of the scooter's automatic CVT. It ensures that the engine power is transmitted to the rear wheel in a continuous and controlled manner.
How Does a scooter clutch work?
The clutch and clutch bell of the centrifugal clutch on scooters form a single unit. The clutch bell is attached to the input shaft of the engine. When the engine reaches a certain speed, the clutch shoes with linings are pulled outward by centrifugal force. Clutch and bell come into contact, they engage so power can be transmitted from the engine to the rear wheel.
How to adjust a Scooter clutch?
Scooters are centrifugal clutches, with increasing RPMs the centrifugal force leads to clutch engagement. The clutch springs play an important role in this process as they affect the engine speed at which the clutch engages, i.e. makes contact with the bell.
The clutch engages at a lower engine speed with soft springs, while hard springs delay clutch engagement. It is important to find the optimum compromise in terms of setup and intended use.
More precise settings can be done with an adjustable clutch, where the tension of the clutch springs can be adjusted.
We carry a wide range of special tools for hassle-free assembly and disassembly of clutch and transmission parts.
