Crankshaft Bearing Set Stage6 R/T HQ incl. Oil Seals Polymer Cage

You should always get high quality crankshaft bearings and oil seals, even more so if your engine is tuned to some degree. Stage6 has given their bearing and seal sets an upgrade and combined the already extremely high-quality ball bearings with the new bright orange Stage6 R/T FKM seals - top color, top performance.

The new orange seals are manufactured using state-of-the-art technologies. They offer a longer service life compared to the previous seals. The main focus was on reducing friction to improve engine performance.

The bearings are available in 2 versions - with elastic polymer cage for racing (less friction) and with robust metal cage for daily road use. While the metal version is more robust than the plastic cage version, it is also subject to greater wear due to increased friction and heat generation.

Both types are approved by SKF for a limiting speed of up to 20,000 rpm. The ensure long bearing life they have to be sufficiently lubricated and properly installed.

The advantages with the polymer-plastic version compared to metal cages are increased elasticity and reduced friction. We personally this type of bearing for racing engines, but you'll have to pay some attention to carburetor and ignition settings, as the bearings may only be permanently heated to a maximum of 120° to prevent damage to the plastic cage. 

Please pay attention when installing the bearings: The half-open side must face the crankshaft webs.

Attention! The polymer cage version should only be installed on engines without a catalytic converter!

  • 2x crankshaft bearing SKF 6204 TN9-C3 20x47x14mm polymer cage
  • 2x oil seal FKM 20x35x7mm

Crankshaft bearings for motorcycle, scooter and moped

Crankshaft bearings ensure the smooth operation of engines, whether on scooters, motorcycles or mopeds. The crankshaft is an integral part of the engine and the associated bearings and seals must be in perfect condition.

A crankshaft bearing set consists of ball bearings and oil seals. They are usually sold as a complete set and must be replaced each time the crankshaft is installed/re-installed.

What are the symptoms of defective crankshaft bearings?

The main symptoms of a defective crankshaft bearing are:

  • Unusual metallic noises coming from the direction of the crankshaft.
  • Unusual vibrations of the vehicle.

Defective bearings must be replaced immediately, otherwise there is risk of further damage to the engine. There are many different tools for crankshaft removal or bearing pullers.
