CVT: the automatic transmission of a modern scooter

Modern scooters don't have a manual gearbox, but a so-called CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The scooter shifts fully automatically and continuously, the rider does not have to shift gears and operate the clutch. The continuously variable transmission consists of four main elements: the actual CVT, the drive belt, the clutch and the gears. These four parts work together and should therefore always match.
The CVT is responsible for changing the gear ratio during acceleration. It works on the principle of centrifugal force: round CVT weights, also called rollers, control the movement of the CVT's front pulley (also called variator) and the V-belt sitting on it.

The CVT transmits Engine power to the rear wheel

Whether you are looking for an OEM quality CVT or a tuning CVT like an overrange / oversize version, we carry a wide selection of CVT transmissions at the best prices.
The sport CVT is ideal for entry-level tuning and midrace cylinders and is available for almost all common engines. The transmissions provide improved acceleration and higher top speed.
For more heavily tuned engines, there are the overrange or oversize tuning CVTs, which are great for racing and high-end setups. This type of variator has a larger diameter than the original and features optimized low-friction roller tracks and a modified or variable angles. These high-end parts should definitely be run with a matching rear pulley (torque drive) and V-belt, otherwise the maximum potential cannot be achieved.
The CVT is a central component in the transmission of engine speed. In combination with the other elements, the power generated by the engine can be optimally transferred to the rear wheel.
