Description
Drive Belt Original Belt from Polini
This belt is the perfect replacement for the original belt, if you want to replace it with a stronger one. Due to the high quality materials it is very durable and temperature resistant and can also be used for 50cc - 70cc tuning setups. Good grip, little abrasion, long life, no slipping - top drive belt for everyday use.
Note: Drive belts should always fit properly. Belts that are too narrow and therefore sit too low reduce top speed, belts that are too wide and sit too high lead to power gaps when starting and belts that are too long have too little tension, which has a negative effect on power transmission.
We recommend to replace the V-belt regularly to ensure optimal transmission of power. Maintenance intervals vary depending on the model, general guideline is 6,000 to 8,000 km for 50cc scooters and 15,000 km (and more) for maxi scooters.
Attention: only for vertical/horizontal Peugeot engines (not TSDI).
Measurements: 768x17,5x8,5 mm / 32°
Polini Original
The "Original" exhaust from Polini is an inconspicuous exhaust that looks very similar to the original exhaust, hence the name.
As always with Polini, however, you can rely on very high quality, and the Original also offers limited volume and slightly increased power. These exhausts are ideal as a replacement for the original models and are homologated (road-legal).
Attention: this type of OEM quality exhaust cannot be used with racing cylinders!
When to change the V-belt?
On scooters, the engine power is transmitted to the rear wheel via the V-belt or drive belt, which connects the CVT variator to the torque drive. As a rule, it should be replaced every 10,000 to 20,000 km. The belt slips when it is heavily worn. By the way, a new belt also slips and needs a short run-in period.
How to change the drive belt?
Replacing the V-belt is a relatively easy, you don't need advanced technical know-how. The first step is to remove the variator cover to get to the variator. You'll need a piston stopper and a blocking tool to remove the CVT and clutch bell. You can then remove the worn V-belt and replace it with the new one. When reassembling, make sure that the V-belt is properly seated and has the correct tension.
