Already famous in the mecaboite/50cc bike scene, finally available for scooters here at Maxiscoot for a very good price: the Top Performances 86cc Tuning Kit (cylinder + 44mm stroke crankshaft) Piaggio NRG / Runner (Piaggio / Gilera LC). With an excellent reputation regarding 50cc bikes/mecaboites already established, Top Performances came up with this 86cc Aluminium Tuning Kit for scooters with Piaggio / Gilera LC engines (NRG, Runner, Zip LC, NTT, etc.).
The cylinder is made of Nikasil-plated aluminium with a 50mm diameter and 44mm stroke, has 6 transfer ports, a bridged exhaust port and a modular high compression cylinder head. The exhaust port is very "large" across its entire width giving it a unique look. Special attention was also given to the cylinder's external surface with a cooling canal enclosing the entire exhaust port for optimum cooling. The crankshaft included in this Top Performances 86cc Tuning Kit Piaggio NRG / Runner is a reinforced full-circle racing crankshaft with "extended" stroke - 44mm, 85mm conrod, small end bearing 12x15x15mm. One of the unique features characterizing high-end crankshafts is the use of Tungsten weights instead of standard "caps" for balancing.
Regarding performance, the Top Performances 86cc Tuning Kit Piaggio NRG / Runner is a Hyper Racing kit and develops 20/22hp in combination with the proper components:
- min. 28mm carburetor
- digital inner rotor ignition
- “Hyper Racing” exhaust.
The Top Performances Tuning Kit 86cc (cylinder kit + 44mm stroke crankshaft) Piaggio NRG / Runner includes two crankshaft bearings (C3 Polyamide cages) and oil seals.
Note: the crankcase has to be milled to make room for the 44mm crankshaft, and also for the cylinder base (d=56mm).

Tuning Level: High End racing
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
High End Racing products are exclusively designed for racing and should only be handled by tuning pros with the appropriate technical know-how. High-end racing parts often require modifications or machining of certain elements to accommodate the often larger components (larger crank webs, larger intake, etc.). Whether you stick with 50cc or increase the displacement, high-end racing parts offer much higher performance than the original parts and are the most powerful tuning parts.
Note: To ensure the reliability of the engine, it is important that the parts are compatible and that you do regular maintenance on your two-wheeler.
Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
