pot d'échappement tuning

Les pot d'échappement d'origine sont généralement conçus essentiellement pour réduire le bruit au maximum, au détriment parfois de la puissance. La puissance max est atteinte relativement tôt et ne favorise pas les hauts régimes et l'allonge. Les pots d'échappement sport et racing, au contraire, apportent moins de couple à bas régime, mais beaucoup plus de puissance dans les tours. Ils sont cependant plus bruyants.

Pot sport: réglages à effectuer

Scooter et mobylettes

Sur un scooter mobylette, pour compenser la perte de couple, il est nécessaire d'opter pour des ressorts d'embrayage plus durs et des galets  plus légers. Cela permet de retarder l'ouverture des machoires d'embrayage et de faciliter l'ouverture du variateur, afin que le moteur atteigne le régime idéal pour démarrer, accélerer vivement et atteindre une vitesse de pointe plus élevée.

Il faudra également régler le carburateur, car le mélange sera trop pauvre : équipez vous d'une boite de gicleurs principales !

Attention, certains scooters sont également bridés au CDI, qui limite le régime moteur. Dans ce cas, le pot sport ne pourra pas exprimer son plein potentiel !

Motos 50cc

Sur les motos 50cc, comme sur scooter, vous devrez surtout régler le carburateur à l'aide de gicleurs principales. Vous pourrez également modifier le rapport de transmission en changeant le pignon (plus petit pour plus de couple), ou la couronne (plus grande pour plus de couple).

Attention, certaines 50 sont également bridées au CDI, qui limite le régime moteur. Dans ce cas, le pot sport ne pourra pas exprimer son plein potentiel !

Motocross et enduro

En motocross et enduro, les échappements d'origine sont bien plus libres et performants que sur les 50cc, puique ces véhicules ne sont généralement pas bridés d'origine.

S'il peut dans certains cas y avoir des réglages à effectuer au niveau de la carburation (gicleurs ou CDI spéciaux sur injection), ce n'est pas toujours nécessaire.

Les pots d'échappement tuning pour motocross peuvent apporter plus de couple ou plus de puissances, parfois les deux, mais de façon moins significative que sur les 50cc homologués. On parlera d'avantage de modification du comportement moteur que de gain de puissance.
